BRICK HOUSE

We all have foundational truths that impact who we are. These truths can certainly be molded and reinvented but continue to be a part of who we become. It’s no different than the foundation of a house. The foundation may not be of the strongest materials or may not have been done with the most skillful builders but still remain to be the beginning of the project. Often we see the beauty of the house and can’t see if the foundation of it is one that puts the house in jeopardy. So what do you do when the foundation is unstable? Do you tear down the house and start all over or do you reinforce the foundation?

Much like the house, you learn to appreciate your investments and the work that was done in the beautification of who you have become. It’s not a prudent thought to throw out the pail with the water. You must find ways to strengthen and reinforce the foundation. You must find ways to work smart and not hard.

I often look at my foundation as unstable. Sure, it was filled with many things that would be precursors for demise but it was also filled with good material not properly placed. ABSOLUTELY, there are things that were not meant for my good and predisposed me to challenges I was unprepared for but those very things were also my motivation to be better.

Don’t let your initial foundation be reflective of the totality of the product. A foundation is just that! It’s the beginning of a project and is not the finished product. Appreciate it but don’t be limited by it. Reinvent and reinforce as you feel appropriate. Refute anyone or anything that attempts to focus on what they determine to be a weak foundation because the dialogue doesn’t belong to them. You are on a journey to build a more perfected you. Don’t let a wolf threaten to blow your house down. Be empowered to know that the foundation doesn’t speak to the glory of your reinvention🙌🏾 . Know your worth isn’t beneath the bricks but instead is the culmination of the ENTIRE product.
