POSITION YOURSELF WITHOUT THE CUES.

Have you ever been in a position that you’ve had to perform with integrity or had to expect integrity from others? Think about a time when your romantic partner went out with single friends……did you trust that he or she was faithful(not just in actions but also in their speech and dialogue)? How about your child at school; can you fully trust that the standards you’ve instilled match the behavior shown when they are out of your eyesight? Better yet, can your job trust that every hour of your shift they are getting your full potential and that you are positively impacting their bottom line? All of the scenarios above have someone or something that is not just expectant of a trusted behavior but are reliant on that behavior to initiate a positive outcome.
Do you agree that with most people it’s easy to assume that people will do what they “should” when people are watching? In MOST cases, there is little challenge to adhere to the standards when there is an audience or there is some overseer who has the responsibility of controlling the scene. Quite simply we have been conditioned to do what we are told and cheat the system when backs are turned. Some of you may disagree but I encourage you to think about our society and how laws are created. It is because THEY know we have people who WILL break laws even with punitive consequences if the check balance system is not present. The honor system is obsolete in most areas and integrity is lacking.
What most don’t realize is that the quality of integrity and operating where no cues are needed doesn’t just impact our communities….. it impacts us. It impacts our very way of life and how we operate within it. Studies indicate that we desire standards and operate best with them yet often we can be swayed by “situationships” that offer us temporary gratitude. It’s almost as if risk taking and “cheating the good” is the norm.
With integrity we are more productive, powerful, and a good steward of our resources. It brings you peace and clear concise visions with the ability to step into your proper place. It quite simply allows you to move freely with confidence and celebrate each accomplishment you achieve because it rightfully belongs to you.
Take a moment this week to self review who you are and what you stand for. Without judgement of others, focus on your own privileges and examine where you can do better. You are needed and so am I but until we are able to challenge ourselves to do the right thing (Even when no one is looking) we will continue to lack in some areas. Become a truth teller even where it pertains to you. I’ve had to do this even when it’s uncomfortable. Let the cues that elicit integrity not become your only voice or means of action. Instead be unmovable in your commitments, values, loyalty and integrity. Your positioning depends on it.
