YOUR OIL POT

CEO-CC’E. Wellness and positive self evolution is the vision. I’m talking about your mind as it relates to wellness. 

I came to be interested in wellness partially because of my profession in nursing but the main reason was my success in trauma. Yes, I said success in trauma because I became so eloquent with exploiting my achievement that I didn’t recognize my mind was in a terminal state.I’d traded my joy for happiness and hid in those spaces. I had a host of people who co-signed that I was in the “Arrived stage”. As a protective mechanism I only looked at the “pretty part “ of me and had an insatiable appetite to gain more. I became one dimensional and a slave to the motions. I was robotic in life’s journey. Quality escaped me and I knew that my mind wellness was no longer optional. This is where the point where revolution and development began. 

  • Many have shared personal growth journeys here. 

    • Trauma to triumph 

    • Pain to purpose 

    • Chaos to creativity

    • S$!? to success

  • Each made conscious decisions to make behavioral changes that :

    • Saved their lives and others through testimony 

    • Birthed creative initiatives through mission 

    • Accepted assignments through Grace AND

    • Quality of life was realized

  • It’s often said the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Cliche’ but true. In order to prevent wastefulness we must respect the intricacy of the mind. We must understand that it demands care. We must also understand there is a difference between mental health and mindful health. 

    • Mental health reaches for clinical wellness goals. 

      • Diagnosis or behaviors that indicate there is one needed. 

      • Medicinal/Intensive Treatment Plans

      • Licensed professionals

      • Financial commitment with support of insurances, etc.

    • Mindful health reaches for personal wellness goals. 

      • No specific intellect or degrees

      • Can be achieved without medication(although some use assistance of natural remedies in conjunction for optimal outcomes)

      • May use a coach,spiritual advisor,or accountability partner

      • Less financial support through insurance 

    • NOTE- Both may need assistance of counseling which is healthy. 

    • There are numerous reasons why our mindful wellness has been impacted. It’s important to recognize your “WHY am I here?”

      • Trauma

      • Ignorance of need 

      • Loss of previous structure 

      • BEING UNCLEAR IN OUR ASSIGNMENT.

  • I’d like to discuss briefly a few initiatives that I utilize with myself and clients in recovering their mindful wellness and positive self discovery.

  • Make note that any well running machine requires lubricant or oil to create fluid and properly ordered movements. Your mind is no different. So what’s in your “OIL POT”?

    • Is it dry?

    • Is it full of sludge?

    • Is it the appropriate grease for what you are cooking ?

  • Understand that there are different consistencies and purposes for “The Oil”

  • I am going to share 3 exercises although there are numerous and varied exercises geared toward mind wellness. 

    • Affirmations-*ESSENTIAL OIL:Smell good,relaxing,easy but strong(takes only a few drops) Write positive thoughts and visualize them not just daily but throughout the day. Make them in present tense not future tense. (Example)

      • Post it notes

      • Update when necessary 

    • Unlock creativity *Cooking Oil: Flexible choices(olive oil,coconut oil,Straight Lard-Accommodates for the occasion) - We are pre designed with specific gifts but we are not required to limit ourselves to the things we have developed up to this point. 

      • Gain a new skill

      • Allow an unfamiliar experience 

      • Refute previous limitations. 

    • Utilize your 5 senses * Skin oils:These oils are proactive and protective. They soothe us and are part of grooming)-Our senses are the keys to memories. (Example- smelling a certain cologne brought back memories of abuses in my childhood) It brings information back to the mind who then responds or reacts based on that memory. 

      • Allow yourself to feel even the things that may be challenging or painful. 

        • Essential in healing and unlocking answers. (Some things hidden in creases- the sludge)

      • Reset those memories and repurpose the sense associated with it. 

      • In nursing we assess everything. You must assess your mind being conscious of the oil you put in it and know when it’s time to change it. There are times you must gird your car with a heavier oil to obtain continued operation. 

  • In closing,  I charge you to examine your oil pot. If it’s just old grease on the stove then it’s time for a refresh. If you can’t identify its purpose then it’s time to go shopping. Give your mind the attention you do your physical or spiritual being.To achieve full wellness you must understand all work together for the good. You deserve to have more because you’re worth it. It’s in your grasp❤️
